Hard to believe this photo was taken with a smartphone well after sundown, without a flash! Which phone, you ask?  The brand new Windows Phone, the Nokia Lumia 920. Nokia knows: In real life, special moments don’t always happen bathed in golden sunlight or other ideal lighting conditions, etc. – So let this smartphone live up to its name and make things a little easier on you. Just look at how it performed at this special Microsoft evening event at the Gramercy Park Hotel Terrace.

These phones are a natural part of the Microsoft ecosystem which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.: If you have a Windows phone, you can access Word Mobile, PowerPoint Mobile, Excel Mobile, SkyDrive (for syncing), SharePoint (for collaboration), OneNote Mobile, Lync, etc., all with different ways to open/edit. Just choose the way you like best.

image Also on display for hands-on test driving was the HTC 8X Windows Phone. The HTC 8X is available with AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile service. On this phone, you can make full-screen Skype calls, and if you like to use your phone to take pictures, rest assured the 8X’s ImageChip technology will help make sure your snapshots turn out good in any light. Also available on this phone: Beats Audio. Are you prone to dropping your phone? The HTC 8X might be right for you with its slightly rubber-esque back. Don’t let its cute look fool you – it’s a high-end smartphone, as is the other new Windows flagship phone mentioned at the beginning of this article, the Nokia Lumia 920
